New Public Allergy Clinic For Queensland - Episode #8
In this episode I talk about the new public allergy clinic for Queensland that has just opened up.
Next week will be a special pre Easter show.
PS. It would be great to get more feedback from you about what you think of ASTV, or what you would like me to cover.
Give me your most burning question about food allergies and I’ll answer it on the show.

Hi Aaron,
Just a quick email to let you know that i am really enjoying the tv show that you are doing. My 2 year old daughter has anaphylaxis to eggs, peanuts and tree nuts so i am always interested in any of the information that you have through your emails and tv show. We found out she had food allergies when she was 6 months old. I am always reading about it and researching it on the internet. I wanted you to know that i have learnt alot from you and appreciate the time and effort that you have put in to your website and tv show. Thanks again and I hope that you keep doing it. Looking forward to next weeks episode about Easter.
Regards
Kerry
Thanks Kerry
I really appreciate getting feedback because then I know I’m making a difference.
I’m proud that I’m able to offer something to the allergy community.
We all help each other.
Aaron
great stuff!
can I add our Uk story as well as part of it seems similar?
There are 6 full time pead allergy clinics in the UK.
we recently had a new allergy clinic start in london.
Which is fab.
However, all the clinics are in london.
There are part time ones in the north of england, but
none in scotland
none in ireland or wales.
The waiting time for first appointment has improved for the london clinics.
However it takes some time to get a refferal. You have to go the rounds of pead consultant, skin doc , asthma doc etc etc
The new waiting time is a fab 6-8 weeks!!
when our 12 yr old was a yr old we waited 8 months, the next year our immunoligist reported that the waiting time was a shocking 1yr -18 months.
This was particularly bad for the dairy allergic, as he was seeing cases of rickets, a disease that has nearly died out in the UK.
the Uk begs its immuologists from aboard, the problem is that new medical students dont like the choice, allergy is not as thrilling as , say, heart surgery!!
So we have to really start grabbing those med students, and beg them to change direction!!
So say yes to those students in your hospital visits!!
