Allergy Skin Testing - Episode #1

Welcome to the first episode of Allergy Smart TV where I shed some light on allergy skin testing.

I forgot to mention in the video that if you’ve had a reaction and taken antihistamine in the previous 3-5 days that you should put off the skin test. Since it could affect the results. Also don’t put any creams or moisturisers / suncream on your forearms for a similar time.

Until next weekend, have a reaction free week. (first heard that signoff from Leslea Harmon)

Great episode Aaron. Keep up the good work. I have posted a link to this in a small Anaphylaxis Forum I am a member of so hopefully you will get lots of views and comments.
Looking forward to next weeks show. Well done.

Thanks Karen, it took a lot of effort to get the ball rolling but it’s going to be a lot of fun. Aaron

It is a really good idea to hear /see a real person talk about everyday allergy issues rather than read about it. Looking forward to next week.Good job!

I think this is awesome. A really good tool to explain to family and friends about allergies. I have anaphylaxis and feel others find my having to expain where my epipen is and how to use it and I’m treated as if I am over reacting and that it isn’t needed. This is a great medium to get the info out there, without making people sit and read mountains of info. With my oldest child having Aspergers, I wish that someone could organise a broadcast in a simlar fashion.

    Nice work, Aaron!

    “have a reaction-free week…” Now, where have I heard that before? ;)

Love ya! Stay cool, I guess! (I was gonna say warm, but it’s 17 degrees F here right now…I’m sure you’re just dandy.)
