Florida’s Good Samaritan Law for Anaphylaxis Patients

Bill from the USA asked me this question yesterday of which I have no answer for him.

Would someone from the US care to comment on this, just add a comment below.

As a BLS, first aid instructor, I still get mixed messages regarding Florida’s good samaritan law and the ability for rescuers to administer an epi pen autoinjector to a suspected anaphylaxis patient who is unconscious. Can you give me any info.?

Thanks
Aaron

I have no idea of florida’s samaritan law , however I would suspect that if you had been epi pen trained by a qualifed professional, ie a nurse, and could prove it, that would be some sort of legal coverage.
Certainly the charity FAAN would be able to explain this area to you.
If you ever think that you may be called upon to administer an epi pen, it would also be wise to update your first aid training.
    As rescusitation may be required.
Its certainly something that all parents should do , esp those who have children with epi pens.
